Inventec Appliances has run three "pearl classes" in Jiangxi, Shaanxi and Anhui provinces to help poverty-stricken but excellent students continue their study.

"As schooling fees grow, some good students have to give up their study at senior middle schools because of financial difficulty," said an Inventec Appliances manager.

Inventec Appliances, with the concept of taking education as the most important public welfare, co-operates with the Xinhua Love Education Foundation to launch the pearl pick-up plan which considers good poor students as pearls.

It funds 150 "pearl students" by paying their three-year living expense at school. They are studying at Anhui Fuyang No.3 Middle School, Jiangxi Ji'an Bailuzhou Middle School and Shaanxi Weinan Ruiquan Middle School.

Apart from the funds, Inventec Appliances has called on its employees to act as volunteers to establish ties with them by mail so as to help them with their studies, the manager said.
